Postdoctoral Fellowships in Cognitive and Behavioral Psychology

The Cognitive Behavioral Institute of Albuquerque, LLC has openings for two 24-month Full-Time Postdoctoral Fellows specializing in Cognitive and Behavioral Psychology.  The Institute is a private, outpatient group practice serving adults and adolescents, operating Mondays through Fridays, 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM.  One Postdoctoral Fellow position is available immediately, and the other Postdoctoral Fellow is slated to begin sometime in early 2012, depending on the availability of the successful candidates.

To qualify for a Postdoctoral Fellowhip, candidates must have earned a Ph.D. from an APA accredited doctoral program in Clinical Psychology and must have completed an APA-accredited internship.  Candidates who have completed their internships and are in the process of completing their Ph.D. requirements may be considered for positions as Clinical Fellows prior to the commencement of their Postdoctoral Fellowships.  Successful candidates must demonstrate a primary career interest in providing evidence-based psychotherapy.

Each Fellow receives 2 hours per week of individual, face-to-face supervision by a licensed, board-certified Psychologist.  In addition, 2 hours per week of case conference and didactics are provided.  Fellows typically engage in approximately 25 hours of direct client contact per week.  The institute offers full-time clerical and administrative support, allowing our clinicians to focus fully on clinical issues and enhancement of expertise in CBT.

The Postdoctoral Fellowhip in Cognitive and Behavioral Psychology is designed to meet the supervised experience requirements for independent licensure in all states.  The training program aspires to maintain the highest possible training standards, as outlined on our Training Standards page. The training program is also tailored to meet the specialization requirements for Board Certification in Cognitive and Behavioral Psychology, with potential sponsorship for certification by the Academy of Cognitive Therapy, the American Board of Cognitive and Behavioral Psychology, and the American Board of Professional Psychology (ABPP).

Each postdoctoral fellow has his or her own private office, computer with high-speed internet, phone, video recording system, and access to the institute fitness room.  The guaranteed annual salary for each Fellow is $45,000, with opportunities to earn more depending on the particular services provided.  Additional benefits include a $2000 conference travel stipend, $1100 for a complete package of EPPP study materials, vacation time, and sick leave, among others.

The institute is committed to a high level of professional collegial support, therefore the successful candidate must demonstrate the ability and commitment to collaborate as a member of a highly supportive skill-building team.

To apply for a position, simply forward a current copy of your CV to Bradford C. Richards, Ph.D., ABPP, Director and Supervising Psychologist, at br@cogtherapy.com.  No cover letters or references are required during the first stage of application.  Candidates qualifying for further consideration will be contacted by the institute within four weeks of their CV submission.
